Men’s Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation

Men’s Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation

Restore Comfort, Function, and Confidence

Pelvic pain, urinary problems, and sexual dysfunction are more common in men than many realize. Still, these issues are often left untreated because they can feel difficult or uncomfortable to talk about. Before turning only to medication or invasive procedures, Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy may offer a safe, conservative, and effective treatment option.

At Balance in Motion Physical Therapy, we provide one-on-one, individualized care to help identify and address the underlying causes of male pelvic floor dysfunction. Our goal is to reduce pain, improve function, and help you return to a more active and confident life.

Physical Therapy may help if you are experiencing:

Sexual Health Concerns

Our Treatment Approach

Male pelvic floor dysfunction is often influenced by a combination of muscle weakness, poor coordination, chronic tension, trigger points, and nerve sensitivity. Our approach focuses on conservative, non-surgical treatment to relieve symptoms, improve function, and support long-term recovery.

Pelvic Floor Muscle Training, Biofeedback, and Rehabilitative Ultrasound

Following a detailed evaluation, we use targeted pelvic floor retraining along with biofeedback and rehabilitative ultrasound imaging to improve your awareness and control of the pelvic floor muscles. Real-time ultrasound guidance can help you better understand how these muscles work during contraction, relaxation, breathing, and core activation, allowing treatment to be more precise and effective.

One-on-One Manual Therapy

We provide individualized manual therapy to address myofascial restrictions, muscle tightness, and trigger points in the pelvic, abdominal, hip, and surrounding regions. This hands-on treatment can help reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore more normal movement patterns.

Therapeutic Exercise

Each treatment plan includes customized therapeutic exercise to improve core stability, pelvic control, posture, breathing mechanics, flexibility, and movement quality. These exercises are designed to support both symptom relief and lasting functional improvement.

Winback TECAR Therapy

We incorporate Winback TECAR therapy as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation program to support pain relief, tissue relaxation, circulation, and recovery. For individuals experiencing pudendal nerve-related symptoms, this treatment may help calm irritated tissues, reduce pain sensitivity, and decrease excessive pelvic floor muscle tension. When combined with manual therapy and exercise-based rehabilitation, it may also support pelvic floor relaxation, improved movement quality, and overall functional recovery.

Shockwave Therapy

When appropriate, shockwave therapy may be included to help address chronic soft tissue pain, stimulate healing, and improve persistent symptoms that have not responded fully to other treatments.

Breathing, Lifestyle, and Postural Education

We also provide guidance on daily habits that can influence pelvic floor symptoms, including bladder habits, toileting mechanics, diaphragmatic breathing, fluid and diet awareness, and posture. These strategies are designed to support recovery and help reduce symptom recurrence.

You Do Not Have to Deal With This Alone

Male pelvic floor dysfunction can significantly affect comfort, confidence, and quality of life, but effective treatment is available. At Balance in Motion Physical Therapy, we provide private, personalized care to help you move better, feel better, and regain confidence in everyday life.
